I am an optimistic person by nature, and, in my view, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. I remind our clients of this frequently because, sometimes, things can feel hopeless. It’s important to know and feel that better days are ahead. I know this is true because my parents went through their own divorce when I was younger. As a child of divorce, it’s natural to feel like you’re in the middle – even if you’re parents aren’t necessarily putting you in that position – because you just want everyone to be happy and everything to be okay. While it may be hard to imagine, over time, it is possible for everything to be okay and for everyone to even be happy. Today, I have my own family, my parents are each remarried, and our entire family spends the holidays and most family gatherings together. If anyone had predicted this when I was younger, I would have told them they were crazy! What’s even more special to me, is my children only know this dynamic (of my parents and stepparents together in one room) as the norm.

The emotions of family law can be overwhelming and make it feel like there is no way to “fix” a problem.
I’m a problem-solver by nature and what I like about working with Lauren and our team is that we employ a practical, and sometimes creative, approach to difficult family law matters.

The most important skill I’ve learned in family law is the ability to truly listen. So often our clients don’t feel heard, and I believe everyone should have that opportunity. I am the first point of contact when you retain our firm. My focus with all of our communications is taking the time to truly listen to you so I can understand both your immediate needs and your long-term goals. This helps our entire team determine the best attorney and approach to successfully meet those goals.

This area of the law is often the most emotional, and I want each client to know that we are on their side and their emotions are valid.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy cooking, baking (before becoming a paralegal I went to culinary school and worked in various restaurants) and spoiling my family and friends with home cooked meals. In my free time, I like to play softball and recently discovered a new love of refinishing furniture. I spend the rest of my non-office life juggling busy kid schedules and tending to our menagerie of pets: Roxy, Kaia, and Duke.
