Hey there, I’m Kayleigh.

I am a Paralegal here at Lauren L. Hunt, Esq., which means I work alongside our attorneys to organize your case and find creative ways to help you reach your desired outcome. I have been in the legal profession since 2003, earning my paralegal certification from Schenectady County Community College, and have experience in several practice areas.

I am driven by strategic problem solving and working as a team, and I find the most value doing that in matrimonial and family law. I know first-hand how custody and divorce issues can impact your life, and I’ve experienced those issues as a daughter, parent, former spouse, current spouse and step parent.  Having the right team behind you helps to manage the feelings of fear and uncertainty, and as my luck would have it, Lauren and I ended up working in the same firm when I was navigating my own divorce. Her approach of delivering both facts and solace helped to shift my perspective from being afraid of the unknown to optimism about the opportunities I would have once I got to the “other side” of the process.

Much like Lauren did for me in my own divorce, I strive to make sure our clients feel heard and understood. Whether I am on an intake call or getting down to the nitty gritty of family finances, I find it most beneficial to be concise, direct and ask a lot of questions. This allows our team to work as efficiently as possible. I specialize in document preparation and financial discovery, which is often the most stressful and daunting part of the process for our clients. My goal is to do the heavy lifting to ease that burden and offer a clear financial picture so we can work towards a resolution. It is an incredibly rewarding feeling when a client tells me how my efforts provided a sense of relief in the flood of emotions divorce and custody can bring.

I’ve lived through many facets of divorce and approach each client with understanding, encouragement and grace. No matter how challenging, I offer the reminder that you will get to the other side of your matter, just as I have! My “other side” is a jam-packed life with my family, cooking a new TikTok recipe, tending to our garden (cursing at the squirrels) or going off-roading in our Jeep with our pups. The struggles give me a greater sense of appreciation for the life I have today, and I look forward to helping you get to your “other side” as efficiently as possible.
